Schönwald Smurfs from the Top of the Black Forest

Schönwald Smurfs are smurfs on stands or sockels, the sockels are labelled "Schönwald, Top of Black Forest" and a current range smurf is normally used on top of the stand.

For 2007, Schönwald Tourist Board are using the Little Devil Smurf for their latest promotional sockel.

In 2006 the Schönwald Tourist Board used the new Witch Smurfette produced for the 2006 Halloween range. In Germany, the beginning of May traditionally marks the final victory of spring over winter. However, the witches and demons of the cold have one last fling on the night of April 30, before retreating from the coming warmth of spring. Legend has it that witches would gather on the Brocken, the highest peak in the Harz Mountains in central Germany. Children dress up as evil spirits and play tricks in much the same way as Halloween, while the witches burn their fires. Walpurgisnacht has become a feast to drive out the demons. Walpurga was the patron saint of witches, hence the use of the Witch Smurfette.
