Written by Frank
Oswald of Gaschers,
this German book is in our opinion the definitive guide to Smurf collecting.
Featuring 342 pages of Smurfs in full colour this is a must have for
any serious Smurf collector.
The beginning
of the book is devoted to the basic Smurf figurine range and starts
with 2.0001 Papa Smurf and continues listing all of the Smurfs produced
over the past 40 years! The text is all in German and the prices are
in euros, but it is very easy to understand. Smurf variations are
detailed and there is a tick box against each smurf enabling you to
keep track of your Smurf collection.
Super Smurfs come
next, again with tick boxes against each Smurf code, and variations
of Smurfs are also listed.
As well as detailing
the standard Smurfs ranges the Der Schlumpf Katalog also features
the following promotional items: -
Smurfs keyrings;
INA Smurfs; Aufdruck Merkur Bank Smurfs; Shell promo Smurfs; Sparkassenemblem
Smurfs; OMO Smurfs; TV Bargau Smurfs; Silan Smurfs; Karamalz Smurfs;
BROXO, Colgate, PDH Dental, Prophylaxe Gruss Smurfs and Fluocaril
Smurfs; Carl Zeiss Smurf; Siebau Smurfs; Betonix Smurf; Petit gervais
Smurfs; S.C.C.I. Smurfs; BASF Smurf; Nahak Smurfs; Sport & Fitness
Smurfs; Forza Smurfs; Fanta Smurf; Philips Smurfs; Gloria Smurf; No
1 Teacher Smurf; I love NY Smurf; Telethon Smurf; SLA, TSI & Fix
& Foxi Swedish Promo Smurfs; BT Smurf; BP Smurfs; National Garage
Smurfs; Paracodin Smurfs; Grand Bazaar Smurf; Endress & Hauser
Smurf; Quick Smurfs; Hardees Smurfs; McDonalds Smurfs and so many
more!
Over 50 pages
are devoted to the many Smurf sockels, stands and music boxes that
have been produced over the years.
Raw (unpainted)
Smurfs, Fake Smurfs and Mini Smurfs are also featured in great detail.
Football Smurfs
are a Smurf Collector's favourite, many of them are particularly valuable
and this catalogue details the many variations that have been produced
over the years and gives you an idea of value of the mint condition
example.
Also featured
are Smurfs stamps, Smurfs sharpeners, Ansteck Clips, Smurfy snowglobes,
Smurfs desk accessories as well as some other very nice Smurfy items.
Finally Smurfs
Playsets and Smurf Buildings feature in the back of this excellent
catalogue.
This book was
printed in 2003 and the most recent Smurfs featured are 2003 New Generation
Smurfs.
Prices/values
shown are a guide to the current market value of the mint condition
example of a Smurf. It is always advisable to remember that if a Smurf
has paint rubs or missing parts then its value may be greatly reduced.
The Der
Schlumpf Katalog in our opinion is the Smurf Collector's
bible. Other books are available for collectors of other Smurfy items
such as glasses, mugs and plush Smurfs, but if your interest is mainly
the pvcs then this book is an excellent buy.
The Der Schlumpf
Katalog IV is very reasonably priced at £12.99 and all of the
books that we sell are available here.
